Manchester Adult and Community Learning is embarking on a reorganization plan and will be relocating over the 2015 summer months. Thank you for your patience while we work to improve our service to you. The school district is working on the final steps of a partnership with one of the universities in our city as well as with the City for the use of a facility. In both cases we believe it is a necessary next step to increase the flexibility for all of our students as well as expand the opportunity for learning to all community members. We are in the process of hiring a new, full-time director and s/he is expected to be on board in July accompanied by a staff of professional educators who will continue the great work already accomplished.
For the time being, please direct your inquiries to David Ryan, Assistant Superintendent of Schools. He may be reached at 624-6300, ext. 136, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Also, information about programs and registration for those programs will be published here and on the appropriate web pages as it becomes available.
MACL will continue to offer programs including Adult High School Diploma, Adult Basic Education, HiSET (High School Equivalency, formerly the GED) preparation and testing, ESL (English as a Second Language), and an evening electrical and plumbing apprenticeship program that continues to operate at Manchester School of Technology.
ABE and ESL classes will be held both days and evenings. High School Diploma, High School Equivalency and apprentice classes will be offered during afternoons and evenings.
Preregistration for the HiSET Test is required on line. Please go to hiset.ets.org to register before considering payment or registration with MACL. Should you have questions about the HiSET prior to wanting to register, please call us and we will have our Chief Examiner respond to your inquiry.
